Register Your Project for Take Care of Oregon Days!

2009 is Oregon’s 150th year of statehood. When future residents look back to see how Oregonians marked this important anniversary, what will they find? We’d like them to see a generation of doers and go-getters giving back to the great state they call home. We’d like them to find the state’s largest volunteer event ever!

That’s why Oregon 150 has commissioned SOLV, Rural Development Initiatives and Oregon Volunteers to create Take Care of Oregon Days. We are looking for hundreds of volunteer leaders to plan events in their communities throughout the month of May, 2009. Join us!

Do what is important to you! Any volunteer-driven, community project in May can qualify.

Never planned a volunteer project? Don’t let that stop you. We will help you with:

•            Money: an easy-to-get grant of up to $100 for purchasing project supplies (as available)
•            Planning: we’ll send you a comprehensive planning guide to take you through each step
•            Supplies: SOLV has a selection of free supplies to support projects (trash bags, etc.)
•            Publicity: you’ll get all the official Oregon 150 marketing materials for your own marketing campaign. Your project will also be featured on the Oregon 150 and SOLV events calendars – where thousands of volunteers will sign up.
•            Ongoing logistical support and consultation

Registrations are due by February 28th, but grants are going fast, so sign your project up TODAY! For more information, visit www.oregon150.org or contact Julia at julia@solv.org or (800) 333 7658 ext. 347.
